Antifilarial medications tend to destroy filarial worms or to inhibit their growth and proliferation. Antifilarial drugs kill the filarial worms or their larvae (microfilariae) and recommended for the treatment of lymphatic filariasis. This category contains a common medicine called diethylcarbamazine that treats filariasis, including lymphatic filariasis.
