Generic Amoxil 250mg Tablet DT is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.

Dosage

The dosage of Generic Amoxil is administered in an individual type of cases. Single dose for adults and children over 10 years, with a body weight greater than 40 kg is 250 to 500 mg. for the patients with impaired renal function at creatinine clearance 15 to 40 ml/min. The interval between doses should be 12 hours. With combination with Metronidazole the daily dose of Generic Amoxil tablet is 3 with a gap of 8 hours. A standard course of the drug is 7 days. For children aged 5 to 10 years the single dose is 250 mg, and between the ages of 2 and 5 years is 125 mg.

Generic Amoxil should be used with doctor’s recommendation. Take Generic Amoxil by mouth with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce irritation of the stomach. To clear up your infection completely; take Generic Amoxil for the full course of treatment. Patients should continue the course even if they feel better in a few days. Your medicine may need to be changed to treat this. Meek diarrhea is common with the use of antibiotic. However, pseudomembranous colitis or a more serious form of diarrhea may rarely occur. But you must not treat diarrhea without first checking with your doctor. Yellow or gray color of the teeth has occurred rarely in some patients taking Generic Amoxil. It happens usually with the children. The discoloration can be removed by brushing or dental cleaning. Generic Amoxil may cause the results of some tests to be wrong like the urine glucose for the diabetic patients. Ask your doctor before you change your diet or the dose of your diabetes medicine. Lab tests, including liver function, complete blood cell counts, and kidney function might be affected if you use Generic Amoxil for a long period of time. Use Generic Amoxil with caution in the elderly; because they appear mor sensitive with its results, particularly to the patients who have kidney problems. Patient should use Generic Amoxil with extreme caution in children younger than ten years old who have diarrhea or an infection of the stomach or bowel system. Caution is advised when using Generic Amoxil in children younger than three months of age; otherwise it may create harsh effect to them. If you are pregnant or about to become pregnant, consult with your doctor about the safety of your baby as Generic Amoxil is found in breast milk. Consult about tentative risks to your baby
